BIRDVIEW Technologies Announces MLS Milestone
GLEN ELLYN, IL – (January 31, 2005) - BIRDVIEW Technologies today announced
the establishment of a new relationship with their 100th different MLS (The
Heartland MLS which serves the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area). The addition
of the Heartland MLS increases the number of listings that BIRDVIEW processes
nightly to over 840,000. These listings are presented on brokerage and agent
websites (where allowed by MLS policies) in 28 states.
BIRDVIEW has experience working with the largest MLS’ including the Metropolitan
Regional Information System (MRIS), TReND MLS and the Multiple Listing Service
of Northern Illinois (MLSNI), as well as smaller multiple listing services like
the Green Valley MLS in Arizona and the Greenwich Association of Realtors in
Connecticut.
Julie Mategrano, Director of Industry Relations and Compliance, explains that
BIRDVIEW’s experience is beneficial to brokers, agents and to the MLS.
“It allows us to; efficiently and quickly deploy an MLS-specific IDX or
VOW platform, deliver compliant home search tools for our clients, to systematically
implement MLS policy changes, and to have a deep understanding of how MLS policies
will impact the members of MLS.” Mategrano, the former chief regulatory
official for the State of Illinois’ real estate education, licensing and
enforcement policies added, “We are intensely aware of the issues that
concern MLS’, such as data security, compliance, enforcement, and National
Association of Realtor (NAR) guidelines.”
BIRDVIEW Technologies is unique among software developers that offer IDX and
VOW solutions. Mategrano noted “We’re proud that our production
process is highly automated, but more noteworthy is the degree to which we have
built compliance with MLS rules and regulations into not only our production
process, but throughout the culture of our company. All BIRDVIEW sales consultants
and support personnel routinely receive training on the rules and regulations
pertaining to the real estate industry.”
This high standard of care maintained by BIRDVIEW is not lost on MLS Association
Executives. “TReND has been providing data to BIRDVIEW for display on
a number of our broker member websites for several years. BIRDVIEW is second
to none when it comes to insuring compliance with our IDX rules and understanding
the complex and often thorny issues at the intersection of real estate and the
Internet”, said David Staebler, Manager of Industry Relations for TReND
MLS.
Having a national view of how MLS data access and display policies affect brokers
and agents, BIRDVIEW has been called on to participate in MLS-sponsored workshops
and other industry forums related to data security and integrity, and has even
assisted an MLS in the early steps of establishing an IDX policy sharing their
“best practices” experience.
BIRDVIEW Technologies provides websites and related software to real estate
offices and agents in 28 States and over 100 local MLS’. The BIRDVIEW
network of websites generates over 20 million Home Views per month.
