Add
new content to your website to keep visitors coming back!
Creating new pages is simple thanks to the Content Editor
tool found in the Web Assistant. Follow this guide to create
new pages in no time!
1.
Login to the Web Assistant portion of your BIRDVIEW web site
by clicking on the "Web Assistant - Restricted Access
Only" link located on the bottom left hand corner of
each page of your site
(Please
note: You will need the User ID & Password in order to
gain access. If you do not remember your User ID and/or Password,
please contact our Customer Support Department at support@birdview.com
for help.)
2.
Once in Web Assistant, select "Website" from the
menu bar, and then click "Content Manager".
3.
On the tool bar menu (next to the Save button), click the
"New" button (with the picture of piece of paper)
to open up the "Create New Page" window.
4.
Once the "Create New Page" window displays, enter
the name of the new page you would like to create in the corresponding
field and click the "Create" button. (For this example,
let's create a list of local restaurants, and name our name
page 'restaurants'.)
5.
Add your content and format your page just like you would
in a word processor, by simply highlighting the text and pressing
the appropriate button. Add pictures using the "Image
Editor" found by clicking on the camera icon, and add
hyperlinks by selecting text and clicking on the "Create
Link" button (with the picture of a chain link).
6.
Click on the Preview button (with the picture of a magnifying
glass) to see how your new page will look, and if you are
satisfied, click on the "Save" button (with the
picture of a disk) to save your new page. Click the "Close
Window" link on the "Save Complete" window
that appears.
(Please
Note: The page you are about to add will not be visible to
the public until the next time our servers synchronize, which
may be up to a half hour from now.)
7.
Now that you have created a page, you need to create a navigation
button so your visitors can find it! To create a navigation
button, select "Website" again, and then click on
"Navigation Editor". In the center column, click
on "Create New Link", and fill in the appropriate
fields. (In this example, we could use 'Local Restaurants'
as our link name, and the "URL for Link" would be
'/restaurants.htm'.) Press "Done", and then back
in the Navigation Editor, select "Save My Changes".
Once
the servers have synchronized, your site will have a new navigation
button leading to a brand new page of content! With your BIRDVIEW
site, the number of pages you can create is only limited by
your creativity!
