AOL
Users At Risk Of Losing E-mails
Given
the wide spread use of spam filtering and blocking services
across the Internet space today, it's become all too common
for legitimate email correspondence to be inadvertently diverted
as spam. As a result, the reliability of email communication
as a business tool has eroded.
To
complicate matters further for service providers like BIRDVIEW,
spam blocking services have become very aggressive and indiscriminate,
in particular AOL, to the extent that a single message marked
as spam by an AOL user (right or wrong) can result in the
blocking of our entire mail service to ALL AOL customers,
including BIRDVIEW subscribers who receive legitimate email
correspondence through us.
To
ensure that such restrictive measures DO NOT INTERFERE with
legitimate BIRDVIEW correspondence, such as lead notifications
from your website, we highly encourage you to not use AOL
as a forwarding e-mail address. If you are an AOL user and
have an AOL email address on file as your destination for
all email correspondence, we strongly encourage you to change
your email address via the Account Manager in your web assistant.
If you do not have an alternative e-mail provider, we urge
you to consider using Yahoo or Google mail services, or our
own iMail service which will ensure receipt of lead notifications
generated by our system.
Furthermore,
to avoid the possible loss or interruption in email communication
between consumers and the BIRDVIEW messaging system or our
subscribers, or the appearance of negligence by BIRDVIEW or
its customers, we will be advising consumers who visit your
website to provide non AOL addresses when registering or requesting
information from you.
If
you have any question or wish to learn more about this important
problem, please contact your local Account Executive or our
customer support department.
