To
Blog or Not to Blog.
A
real estate blog is a great way to expand and enhance
your website with fresh content. A real estate blog
is only as good as the person who publishes it. There
are a lot of great blogs on the Internet, covering
an enormous range of topics. There are also plenty
of duds. Launching a blog is the easy part. It's the
constant addition of useful, interesting content that
sets the good blogs apart from the duds.
In general, most blogging programs (such as WordPress
and Blogger) create clean, well-coded web pages. Just
type your blog post, click the "Publish"
button, and you've got a new web page. No web coding
experience is necessary.
Benefits
of a Real Estate Blog
· Grows your web presence steadily over time.
· Positions yourself as an authority
· Provides valuable content to readers / potential
clients
· Demonstrates you're web savvy
· Improves your search engine visibility with
time
· Increases your site's value and usefulness
· Encourages interaction and feedback from
your readers
· Gives people a good reason to visit your
site - and revisit
· Gives people a reason to recommend your site
to others.
What Should You Write About
So what do you publish in your real estate blog? How
about property listings, current interest rates, or
special events ... or all three? If you write about
multiple topics label each blog post and assign it
to a category (news, property, miscellaneous, etc.).
This makes it easier for readers to find information
on your blog.
Good
blog posts might inlcude a combination of home buying
and/or selling advice for your key audience, as well
as news and info about the local real estate scene.
Keeping track of local real estate developments can
provide additional information for your blog posts.
Do this on a consistent basis and you'll have a steady
stream of helpful tips tailored to your exact audience
(first-time buyers, sellers, relocators, etc.)
A
blog can help you grow your website with quality content,
acquire inbound links from other blogs, build your
reputation, inform your readers, reinforce your brand,
and of course, increase your online visibility.
