Domain
Names (Part I of III) - Registering a Domain Name
You are highly encouraged to register your own domain
name. This way, when someone types in your URL, they
are automatically directed to your Branded AgentPage
where they can do business directly with you.
Below are instructions on purchasing a domain name,
setting the name servers and parking the domain at
your BIRDVIEW AgentPage. These instructions were created
using www.GoDaddy.com, but you can purchase your domain
name from whomever you wish.
Domain
Name Search
- Go
to www.GoDaddy.Com and find the box that says "search
for domain name now" and enter a domain.
- If
the name you want is available, click the box next
to the domain name and extension of your choice.
Then click "Smart Registration" to purchase
it.
- If
the name you want is not available, search for another
name. Below are some good examples to try.
Purchase
Your Domain Name
- Create
your account and select the length of your registration.
We recommend a 5-year term for a primary domain.
- Click
the option to "Host Domain Elsewhere".
- Enter
BIRDVIEW's name servers in the boxes provided. The
primary and secondary Name Servers should be:
Primary - NS1.BVRD.COM
Seconday - NS2.BVRD.COM
- Ignore
the extra's they try to sell and "Proceed to
Check-out".
Eventually you'll be asked to confirm your domain
name.
- Complete
the Account Owner information, payment information
and set up your password. Write down your password!
- Keep
a copy of the confirmation code you receive after
the transaction is complete.

- E-mail
support@birdview.com and ask BIRDVIEW to "park
your new domain name at your website".
- Be
sure to include your full name, your new domain
name(s), and the web address of your website.
